2013 National Bike Challenge team members:

This is really getting FUN!
Here is a quote from Rod Smith, team captain of the Bike Arlington All Stars, currently in 3rd place in the NBC:

"I'd like to see BA win the overall but the way Gainesville is riding, it seems unlikely... If we somehow get over a hundred riders on our team, maybe... I'm not afraid to compete with the big teams."

He seems to doubt his team's ability to make the big push they will need to reclaim even 2nd place.  But, another rider had this to say about the team from Gainesville:

"Yeah but they may slow down once the 100+ heat and humidity hits them.

Too bad the competition didn't award extra points for elevation gains; let's face it FL is flat, flat, flat."

Extra points for hills?  We can't take the heat and humidity?   'Flat, flat, flat?' Give me a break!  They don't seem to get it that it's all about the 20 daily points + miles and RIDING EVERY DAY to maximize those points

So, thanks, everyone, for riding at least a little every day, and for riding extra miles when you are able.  Keep up your commitment to ride EVERY DAY, even when it's hot, humid, hilly, or rainy, and GCC's huge lead will continue to grow.

***ONE LAST THING:   If you are registered for the Challenge, and your intention was to join GCC's team, please go to Endomondo, find GCC's roster, and be sure your name (or your alias) is listed!   Your miles will not count for GCC unless you are actually a member of the team. The online registration process is confusing, and it's important that your confirm that you actually are on the team.***

More updates as things develop.
