Dear Club,
The Touch-a-Truck foundation donates all money to the Camp Amigo, the children's burn camp of North Florida. Last year 3000 people attended, and 700 helmets were given away for free. This year we expect 1000 kids helmets and several hundred adult helmets to be fitted and given away for free.
Check out all the fun at
www.sweetdreamstouchatruck.com. If you have kids, this is great fun, whether you volunteer or not. It's like a jumbo-sized hot wheels carnival, with helicopters and fire trucks.
We need multiple volunteers who are willing to a) fit helmets to children b) explain to parents why they need to fit a certain way and c) fit adults to helmets. Picnic lunch will be provided--bring your own if you don't like burgers and dogs. We need folks from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Citizen's Field, on Saturday May 18th. You can work in a small shift if you like, we are flexible. The most needed time is from about 11:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The promoters sent their heartfelt appreciation for GCC's volunteers from last year.
Let me know if you can help out.
