Hi GCC members,<div><br></div><div>I just wanted to let everybody know that there are a couple foot races scheduled on the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail over the next two Saturdays, December 1st and December 8th.  As far as I know, the trail is not closed for these events, but you should be aware to exercise caution as they will be congested with runners during that time.</div>
<div><br></div><div>The December 1st event will start at 8:00 AM and the December 8th event will start at 9:00 AM.  There will be timing equipment setup by the Boulware Springs trailhead, so there will definitely be crowding over there with spectators.</div>
<div><br></div><div>As usual, we should also exercise caution on the tight switchbacks and in the climb and descents into the tree hammock regardless of these events.  If you want to ride your bicycle at race paces, the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail is not the ideal place to do so anyhow.  It&#39;s a lot more fun and you see a lot of the countryside on the A-rides instead...  ;-)</div>
