Hi everyone,
I’d like to share a few cycling events coming up at The Freewheel Project.
Critical Ass: Gainesville’s 4th Annual Nearly Naked Ride will occur on Friday, August 25.
Critical Ass, based off of critical mass rides, is a slow-paced group ride around town to raise awareness about the vulnerability of cyclists while making a spectacle and having fun. We will do a short ride on major roads (SW 13th St, Archer Rd, and NW 34th St have been on the route in past years) to remind motorists that we exist and can legally use these roadways! This statement is most effective when we have a large group of participants. If you’re on Facebook, please RSVP and invite anyone you know who may be interested.

This year's Gainesville-Atlantic 75 will be held on Sunday, September 10.
For those who are unfamiliar, Swift Cycle used to put this race on and it was always a blast. It is a 5-person team time trial from Gainesville to the beach in St. Augustine. It is registered with USA Cycling as a fun ride. Registration is now open for this event. Entries must be received by Friday, September 1. The first 15 teams that have submitted their entries and sent a donation of $75 to The Freewheel Project (in the shop or on paypal to xxxxxx@gmail.com) will be allowed to compete. Ride fees will go towards putting on the event, refreshments, and to The Freewheel Project's outreach programs. For more information on the event and how to register, check out the website or the Facebook event page.
