Club, Team, Alums,
This is a non-partisan public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood political hack:
1. Report voting irregularities to 1-866-OUR-VOTE. During phone banking last night we noticed many people had not recieved absentee ballots they requested. Many were turned away from open polls. Others were on purge lists for no reason. Florida is a swing state, and it could come down to small numbers. Whoever wins, let it be fair and square. You can file a provisional ballot if there are any problems (these will be counted if things are close).
2. Near the Reitz Union on UF Campus there are some "voting vans." By law these are required to be non-partisan, so anyone can board them. That doesn't mean you won't be accosted with suggestions during the ride (which is legal), but if you don't have any other way to get to the polls, please use this resource. If you can't find one, head to the Obama table on the North side of Reitz on the quad for info. The Republicans may have a van as well and they are in the same location. These are not just for students and faculty, anyone can ride them.
If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them or direct you to an answer, please email only (I'll probably check during lunch and then after work).
Regards,
James Thompson
