I know that it was reported previously that there was maintenance work being done on the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail.  The LoBees rode the Trail today and I wanted to make sure everyone knows that the work is still ongoing in many areas.  There are stretches of gravel and deep sand, so much so that I'm surprised there were no accidents among our riders.  I feel that the Trail should definitely be avoided until work is completed.  The work was being done in several areas and unfortunately, I can't be more specific.
