If you are at B or Glider level and you want to become a better rider (i.e., safer, faster and more efficient), then come out - not all at once - on an A ride when you feel ready.  I will likely be on one if it is the weekend, and I will teach you.  You may get dropped, but this won't likely happen until the way home.

If Doug has been leading you, then you must have learned much needed skill.

Another approach would be to attend one of James' Developer Rides - and he will let you know when to make the jump.

And to tout, if you want such a challenge as below dismantled by Scott, then try it before a Hipp ride, where we can easily hold 30mph and catch the timid hippEST ride up north given the same parameters....

cheereo, smiles, and kisses,

mk

ps: seriously, though, please do not try this with the Hipp ride

I would just like to comment on the utter insanity and inequity
that is the mighty bb's challenge to the tues night a ride
as they leave 25 minutes before us - so for forty miles
we would have to average 30 mph just to catch them before the
finish - so this so called "3-0" is obviously a sad sad joke
as there is not fabian cancellara in our midst
so please inform the bees to adjust their departure
time if they are indeed serious about making this a real game

The Mighty âBâsâ (which BTW are 3-0 vs the AâsJ)  will be once again gearing up for battle on Tuesday leaving the Chevron at EXACTLY 5:55 PM.  Since we keep winning we must each Tuesday give them a smaller and smaller delta or they might take their ball and go home.  Canât have that.

Hereâs the game plan:

Who should come out?

Anyone that would like to learn to ride faster.  No matter if your speed is currently 14/15 or 17/18 or even 20 MPH average.  The whole purpose is to become a better rider.  Might you get dropped.  YEP, and probably some of us will.  But that is OK.  What you will want to do is come out and go as hard as you can for as long as you can, and push harder then you thought you could.  (BTW: ask Victor and Xeve from last week.  They did great. And rode better than they thought they could)

Also, these rides are designed to TEACH riders that would like to move up, the POLITICS of riding in a fast pace line.  Be it a single or a double, or maybe later on a rotating.  Here in an informal/friendly setting we can all learn together.

When: Meet at 5:45 for pre ride meeting

Course will be 40 miles, see Jaysonâs posting in a counter clockwise rotation

It should take just a little longer than 2 hours, but bring a blinkie for the ride home

Remember that even if the Aâs do catch us, we can claim that due to the fact that some of us are very old, fat, out of shape, infirmed, and just plain lazy, we will still win!!!  J  The whole point is to have fun and become a better rider.

See you tomorrow night.
