Hi all!

I?m back at home and am so happy to be functional enough to be here. 4 weeks of hospital and rehab...... hard to believe. I keep waking up waiting to find out this was just a bad dream but, alas, it?s my reality for now.

Let me first thank everyone for the cards, the food, the visits, the flowers, the DVDs, the books and the incredible generosity of heart during these past 4 weeks

The quick summary is that I have a broken collar bone, a fractured L2 and a compound fracture in the left femur. The L2 is in a titanium mesh case. I?m lucky not to be paralyzed. I?m currently in a hard body cast that goes from my hips to my shoulders. I?ll be in it until Xmas.

The femur was repaired with a titanium rod 15 inches long that bolts down at the knee and connects up to the hip. With any luck I?ll be weight bearing by Thanksgiving.

I?m working hard at rehab and trying to get my life back in order.

You are all welcome to visit; truthfully, I think I am getting well because of all the TLC from my friends. Late afternoons are best because I?m done with rehab usually after 4:00.

Heartfelt thanks to each of you,

Keep the rubber side down and have fun this weekend at the Festival. Wish I could be there,

Vicki
