Subject: GCCMail: A-Riders Weekend - North / South

Greetings trendsetters,

Saturday - NORTH: Meet at 9:00am, depart at 9:15am. Route is approximately 80 miles and will take in Alachua, Worthington Springs, Brooker, Graham and back into town.  Ride time with be about four to four and a half hours.  Bear in mind there is a chance of rain for Saturday, so keep an eye on the listserv.

Sunday - SOUTH: Meet at 9:00am, depart at 9:15am. For Sunday,   Ride is approximately 70 to 75 miles and will take in Newmans Lake, Windsor, lots of cool roads between Hawthorne and Melrose before heading back into town.  Ride time will be about four hours.

I don't like to adjust rides because of wind direction (tailwind on the way home, etc); there isn't much you can about it in a race so why ride with this mentality.

The overall average speed for the entire ride usually will fall between 19 and 22mph. In the first half of the ride, the group will try to remain together, which means we will regroup after all sprint points and keep the pace down.  However, riders should still feel comfortable with riding at a pace of 19-22mph in a group.

NORTHERN ROUTES:
MEET: At the Chevron Petrol Station @ NW 43rd St and 53rd Ave (Hunters Crossing and Millhopper Road)

PARK: In along NW 43rd St. Start at the north end and work south.

SOUTHERN ROUTES:
MEET: University of Florida Campus at the Rock - Turlington Plaza.
