That sounds great, and
I do
wish the best of luck to Jake and Orlando, However, I heard from a bird
that
Lex sold Bikes and More over on sixth and twenty third. The new owner is
an
avid supporter of local cycling and has a desire to transform Bikes and
More
into a top quality Roadie-Friendly shop, without the attitude. When I was
in
there last, the new owner, Paul Schmidt, was cleaning house and packing
the
shelves full of new inventory. The shop is now the newest Bianchi Dealer.
When
you get a chance, you should stop in and give the shop a good once-over.
Regards,
Paul Schmidt

Sunrise?

Hey,
all,
1 - There is a new bike shop on Newberry Road nr 34th
St. It
is located north across the street from the location of the old Bike
Route. If you know where the Gator Barbershop is in the row of one
story
businesses...this new shop is the last building on the west end of that
row...right beside the bridge that crosses Hogtown Creek.
Orlando,
previous of the Bike Route and Mr. Goodbike, and Jake are running it.
Orlando
says he has plenty of background working on Trek/Shimano gear trains,
brakes,
etc...105, Ultegra, etc. They opened 11 Oct so not a lot of inventory
yet. Filled with Fuji, Cannondale, Surly and some other
brands.
Most new, some used...there are two sweet Cannondale CAAD racers in
there, 56
cm and 54 cm. Plenty of supplies...Gatorskin tires, tubes, pumps,
etc.
The move by the Bike Route was not good for me...it left me
with
the choice of driving down to Gator Cycle or up to the BR or riding into
the
thick of UF traffic to get to Chain Reaction. I live within 1.5 miles of
this
new shop...unless I see something wrong with their skills, I plan to use
this
new shop for repairs, equipment, etc.
Can anyone vouch for these
guys?---

Anyone
planning a Saturday 800 am Sunrise ride from the NW Chevron?
I
was planning to pass there ~800 am and do the sunrise route backwards
cruising
at 19-21 mph but with some intervals at 22-25+ mph. Head out 121 N,
turn
left 236 W, turn left 241 S and hitch a ride with the NW wind, turn left
MH
Road.
Let me know here if you are and I will be sure to pass by
the
station at 800 am and keep an eye out for you. And,
I do not mind switching the
plan and
do the Sunrise route the other way and do the usual sprints on the hills,
etc.
spin the hills...Bob Howland
