Saddle Tramps will ride Sunday, August 28th, from Powers Park on Hawthorne Road @ Newnans Lake, which is 4 miles from the intersection of East University Avenue and Hawthorne Road. Meet at .7:15 a.m. for a 7:30 a.m. departure. Our early departure time is due to anticipated scorching weather and a desire to be back if possible by 10:30 a.m. to avoid the major heat of the day. Bring plenty of sports drink or water. There are bathrooms at Powers Park and there will be an opportunity for an early stop at the Pearl Station in Micanopy.

We'll head to the Gainesville Hawthorne Trail near mile marker 4, then south down C.R. 234 to Micanopy, and beyond to CR320, ride east through McIntosh to Hwy. 441, and on to the C.R.225 returning to the Trail via C.R. 346 over the River Styx, C.R. 325 and back where we started. Approximately 34 miles.
