I wanted to thank everyone for all the feedbacks. I think shipping the bike is the way to go after some researching of prices to take a bike on the plane.  Seemed like there were lots of problems with bikes on planes also, so probably safer to ship the bike.  Oh well, if I don't have my bike, then it's big time beach volleyball in Cali. Hot smile   Thank you for those who offered to let me borrow your bike cases.  Please let me know when and where I can pick it up(just need 1 case though..haha).  Again, my cell is 246-7756.  Thanks again everyone. Does anyone has a bike case that I could borrow for 1 week.  I am flying out Sept 4th and coming back on Sept 12th. 

Does anyone knows if it is better to fly with the bike or ship the bike to your destination first?  Any help/info is greatly appreciated. 

I flew with my bike once to France, and I don't think I want to do that again as far as putting my bike into a cardboard box.
