Dear GCC Member:

Like the Marines, we are looking for a few good men and women.  The end of our business year is approaching, and it is time to elect a new set of Officers to constitute the Board of Directors.  The By-Laws direct that this January the existing Board must elect a slate of Officers to serve as the Board in 2006, and many Officers are running for re-election.  But we have openings for the following Officers, so this is your chance to volunteer to serve the Club:

             1.  President:  The President presides at all meetings, and is the general manager for the Club, having responsibility of the over-all operation of the Club.

             2.  Treasurer:  The Treasurer keeps the financial records for the Club, receives and deposits money, files required documents, and presents a financial report at monthly Board meetings and at the Annual meeting.  The Club books are kept on Quicken, and we use laser printer checks.  We will train a willing and capable person, if necessary.

             3.  Off-Road Director:  The ORD is responsible for developing and administering the off-road program for the Club, and is our representative to IMBA.

             4.  Director-at-Large:  The Director-at-Large is responsible for attending Board meetings, serving on committees as appointed by the President or the Board, and keeping up with Club activities and issues.

             5.  Ride Leader Coordinator:  The Ride Leader Coordinator maintains liaison among Ride Captains, the Board, and individual ride groups, and develops ride groups to fill Member needs.

 Board meetings are held (traditionally) monthly except for December on Sunday evenings for dinner, so Officers are expected to host one dinner per year.  If this is a problem due to your facilities, we are always able to find someone's house where you can arrange a meal.  The Club provides $50 for each Board dinner to help defray expenses.
