Saturday-NORTH,

Sunday-SOUTH,
September 13th: Meet at 8 am, depart at 8.15
am. Home game this weekend,
so the Saturday A ride is NORTH. I'll be out of town, have fun. BTW, remember Sunday the
20th is Swampman, it's the easiest sub-5:00 (several people did
sub-4:00 last year) century in the state. http://www.swampman.org/ About the
Helmets
are required on all GCC Rides. Expect mileage to be in the 50-70+ range
with one rest stop. Routes are determined prior to the ride depending
on which way the wind is blowing and who shows up. Routes are agreed
upon by consensus the morning of and may change en route. Speed is
consistent 20 + mph during the ride. With surges exceeding 25 mph (and
sometimes 30 mph). A- Riders do respect all road safety rules, but do
not respect a specific speed limit, especially after the rest stop.
We
will often regroup at major intersections before the rest stop, but not
necessarily after the rest stop. Ken will often attack for no reason,
Rob will not be able to resist storming up every hill, Jayson will tell
everyone how bad his legs feel right before he'll launch a five mile
solo effort, Huan will say he's not that strong then try to go for the
sprint, Kerry will tell us the ride will have reasonable stops
(reasonable being one stop at the 80 mile mark), Chris & Ryan will
be happy to tow everyone around at 25mph, you'll almost forget that
Darryl is on the ride until he passes you in the final sprint, Lambert
will have something cheeky up his sleeve, Derek
will pull so hard that you'll be in agony, but he's such a nice guy
you'll apologize to him for having to put you through that, and
Shannon will
launch a brutal attack after everyone is already tired from beating up
on each other. This is just the way it is, it's nothing personal.
