Please bring lawn chairs, you will be more comfortable

*****************************************************************************************************
The Gainesville Cycling Club (GCC) will have a picnic on Sunday, April 22 at the San Felasco park in Alachua.  This picnic features the "Spaghettii Sauce Challenge" in which Club members should bring their best spaghetti sauce for all to sample.  GCC will provide pasta, lots of salad and soft drinks. Fodd should be served around 12:00 noon.

Club members should bring their most creative spaghetti sauce, the Club will have a large stove to heat the sauce.  If people have special pasta, we can also cook that.

Ride leaders may want to organize rides that end at the San Felasco park, which is just off US 441 in Alachua.   San Felasco park has excellent off-road dirt trails and road riders can enjoy the roads around the Alachua area.

The picnic is an excellent way to introduce family and friends to the fun of bike riding.  Both on-road and off-road riding is available.  Club members may want to bring a desert or sald to complement the spaghetti and tossed salad.

Chandler will bring tossed salad, dressing and a bunch of pasta.   Chandler can use some help, especially around mealtime.  You can ride and then help, I just need a little help at mealtime with organizing while I am furiously cooking pasta.   A big help would be if someone could bring a propane turkey cooker, to heat water.  The club will provide propane, the cooker will help boil water that will be used on the main stove to cook pasta.

San Felasco park is one mile south of the town of Alachua on US 441.  From Gainesville, take US 441 north and turn left at Progress Park, just outside of Alachua.  There are signs on the highway directing trraffic to the park.  Entry fee to San Felasco is $2 per carfull.

PS:  Don't forget GCC's Memorial Day picnic at Hart Springs (near Trenton) on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.
