***** Pink Ribbon Ride: Saturday, Oct. 16th;
Rain Date - Sunday, October 17th ***** Please join me for a Pink Ribbon Ride
this Saturday, October 16th in honor of those whose lives have
been touched by Breast Cancer. Please wear Pink to show your support for Breast
Cancer awareness. Pink ribbons
will be
available for you to write the names of friends and family who
have battled Breast Cancer and Pink bandannas will be
provided for those who forget to wear something Pink. Here are the ride
particulars: Start
Time: Meet at 8:45 am for a 9:00 am roll-out
Start Place: Main Street
Alachua (park in lot across from Conestoga's
Restaurant) Distance: About 42 miles with a
few significant hills (great tune-up for next weekend's Gainesville Cycling
Festival!) Destination:
Providence Pace: About 15
mph If enough riders show up, we will break into
two groups to accommodate pace differences. Maps will be provided at the
start. Please note that there is a store (and restroom) at about the
15-mile mark but no other indoor restrooms until ride's end. Please plan
accordingly. In the event of bad weather on the morning of the ride, I will
send an email by 8:00 am postponing the ride until Sunday morning.
As always, all GCC safety protocols apply.
Helmets are mandatory, mirrors recommended. Let's have a safe and fun ride to celebrate our many advances
towards the treatment and eventual CURE of Breast
Cancer! Barb Wills (210)
