16 AV - Citizens Advisory Committee
In response to our discussion concerning your request for Alachua County Public Works staff to present the NW 16th Ave - Milling and Resurfacing Project to the Citizens Advisory Committee, we offer these comments. The original scope of work for this project was pavement maintenance. Over time and as a result of public input and changes made at the direction of the Board of County Commissioners, the scope of this project has changed. The project is still a milling and resurfacing project but enhanced bicycle and pedestrian features are being considered. At the direction of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, we have presented this project to the Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Board. We understand the importance of the Citizens Advisory Committee’s input. We plan to present this project to the Citizens Advisory Committee at a more appropriate time in the design process. This project is tentatively scheduled for presentation to the Board of County Commissioners on May 24, 2011 and members of the CAC are welcome to attend that meeting and provide comments.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or require additional information.
