![]() Allen and Velvet take a break on Feagle Road on the way to
Myrtis
Strays will try again this coming Saturday June 9,
after
last week's rain out.
Saturday June 9 , Strays will
meet
in Myrtis to ride 32 of the most scenic northern
miles of the Santa Fe Century. This will include the
Feagle
roads. This portion is never seen by people who do the 55 mile ride, or the
Millhopper Ramble, and is the very best of the entire Santa Fe Century.
This is
a ride Strays do about twice a year.
Meet at 8:15 am for an 8:30
am start.
Ride speed range 2.5 - 46 mph, varying with
terrain.
Average speed in recent times has typically
been approaching 13 mph, This ride has
a few
moderate hills.
There will be a convenience store / rest room opportunity at the
beginning of the ride, and a visit to Kelly's Horse Farm at about the
15
mile point. Bring your own mid-ride snacks.
After the ride the hungry will head to Floyd's Diner in High Springs
for
lunch if the weather is suitable for eating outside, otherwise we will
probably
go to Conestoga or P'diddles in Alachua. Other suggestions for good
restaurants
always considered. No pace lines, no wheel sucking, no racing, just a fun social
ride.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all
Strays
rides, mirrors recommended, headphones
forbidden.
Safety protocols are always observed on Strays
rides
