Day: Saturday, June 11th

Time: 7:45 am meeting, 8:00 departure (Note: Slightly earlier start time…beat the heat and have time for a swim afterwards)

Meeting Place: The Lodge at Dylan’s Grove, 18909 SW 21st Place, Newberry, Florida 32669. Directions: West on Newberry Rd to SW 170th St, south to SW 15th Ave, right to SW 188 St. Enter through gate and drive to the rear of the community (1/2 mile) and turn right on SW 21st Place to driveway that goes to parking area for The Lodge. There are bathroom facilities at The Lodge for changing into swim suits for those wishing to stay following the ride. We’ll be providing cold drinks and cookies at The Lodge following the ride. Feel free to stay for a cold drink even if you don’t swim.

Access: Dylan’s Grove is a gated community, so if you would please reply to this e-mail and I’ll send you a temporary gate code by e-mail.

Route and Mileage: The route is going to Jonesville and up 241 to Alachua and north on 441 to CXR 235A and north to Traxler for a rest stop. From there CR 236 east to Santa Fe and then south on CR 239 to Alachua; then returning south on 241 to Jonesville and back to Dylan’s Grove. If there are riders for both Glider pace and HighBee pace rides there will be ride leaders for both rides; although both will be going on the same route and can join together is the group wishes to do that. We welcome any GCC and TVM members to join in on the ride as long as you are comfortable with participating in a ride for one of the above mentioned groups. While these rides will go at these paces, this is not an official Glider ride unless Roger Pierce chooses to post it as such; however any riders who typically do those rides are welcome to join us. All rides will be a no drop ride with soft pedaling as needed to re-group and re-grouping at turns when needed.

Originally, this ride was planned to go to Williston, but due to the wildfires and the smoke caused by them we will do that ride another time.

Pace: Normal Glider pace of 19-21 MPH and the normal HighBee and Team VetMed pace of 17-18 MPH will be in utilized on this ride.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member. Team VetMed members are welcome.
