GRU will be piping
electrical conduit and reclaimed water along the Depot Rail-Trail from
South Main St., west to SW 11th St. The project will be completed in
3 phases with phase # 1 occurring along the Depot Rail-Trail from S. Main
St. to SW 3rd St.; phase # 2 from SW 3rd St. to SW 6th St.; and phase
# 3 from SW 6th St. to SW 11th St.
The Depot Rail-Trail will be closed periodically for the duration
of this project in 3 locations. The first closing will occur during
phase # 1, from S. Main St. to S.W. 3rd St., with a temporary grass path
designated north of the trail. An optional alternative bicycle detour
from S. Main St. to SW 3rd St. will be available from (East to West) S.
Main St. north to SW 6th Ave.;
S.W. 6th Ave. west to S.W. 3rd St.; and S.W. 3rd St. south to Depot Ave.
The reverse order will also serve as an optional alternative bicycle
detour for the project (West to East). This phase # 1 is tentatively
scheduled to close the trail from S. Main St. to SW 3rd St. on Monday,
November 26, 2007 - Friday, December 21, 2007.
When phase # 1 is complete, the crew will begin work on phase # 2
(will result in closing Depot trail from SW 3rd St. - SW 6th St.), and
proceed to phase # 3 (will result in closing Depot trail from SW 6th St. -
SW 11th St.), when phase # 2 is complete. Since the phase # 2 and
phase # 3 dates are dependent on the timing of the previous phase's
completion, the corresponding tentative dates and alternative
routes/detours will be announced at a later time when the progress of work
is better accessed. The entire project is projected to take 8 - 10
weeks to complete.
