Dear Friends:

Joanie Kniseley jo\ust alerted us to a triathlon taking place on the Withlacoochee early this Saturday morning.  Might be out of our way for a late start, but I don't want to risk the conflict and confusion at the Trailhead.

SO - we will shift the ride to the Nature Coast Trail, with the same departure time.  Find the Nature Coast by going West on Newberry Road through Newberry to Trenton, turning Right (North) at the traffic light on North Main in Trenton.  The old train depot is a couple of blocks up North Main, on your Left.  Thus lunch will be at the Suwannee Rose Cafe.  Otherwise, the rest of the info stands.

Thanks, Joanie.

George

Dear Friends:

The EZ Riders and the Hokey Pokies will cruise down the Withlacoochee State Trail this Saturday 29 October, departing the Inverness Trailhead at 9:00 AM, and returning to Inverness in time for lunch at Stumpknockers.  We will ride to somewhere South of Floral City, with a stop at Hampton's Edge bike shop.  Speeds will be slow, and we leave no one behind.  Suitable for families and children.  The Trail is flat, and well-paved.

Bring water, sunscreen, bug juice, whatever.  Snacks and drinks are available in Floral City.

Find the Trailhead by setting your GPS to 315 North Apopka Avenue, Inverness FL 34450-4201, or go South on Williston Road to Williston, pick up US 41, and proceed South to Inverness, enter the Inverness city limits from the North on US 41, turn Left on North Apopka Avenue, go a little over 1/4 mile, and look for the kiosk and State Trail signs.  Takes about 1.5 hours from our house in West Gainesville.  Or you can take I-75 to SR 44 West, and enter Inverness from the East, turning Right on Apopka Avenue in Inverness.

NOAA says low-50's in the AM, warming to around 75 in the PM.  Should be in the 60's when we saddle-up.  Dress appropriately.

Please let us know if you are going to join us, so I can do a head count before the start.  Email or 333.3184.

Cheers,

George
