Jersey and shorts orders.............last chance

I've been asked to comment on the quality of the club's most recent jersey and shorts, since I own and wear both and really like them.

Of the eight jerseys I own, two of which are club jerseys preceding the current model, this is by far the best material for the purpose of riding that I have. As for the shorts, of which I own 6 pair, two of which are club models preceding the current model, this is also the best pair of shorts I own for riding.

Certainly at the prices that they are both offered to you by the club, you cannot do better. And if you buy them and decide for some strange reason that you don't like them, consider that it may be quite awhile before the club does another jersey/shorts order. So if you really don't like them, you will probably be able to resell them to someone in the club with no great difficulty, since otherwise that person may have to wait quite awhile to get in on another major club order.

The reason's I think these items are good;

The jersey:
Aside from representing the club and being bright enough to keep you safe on the road, it is a material with a good heft and silky feel, but at the same time so porous and airy that it drys very quickly in the summer heat. So you don't stay sweaty long, and it doesn't contribute to your getting too hot out in the sun, by boxing in your heat. If you order it remember that even the club cut tends to run small, so if you normally wear a large T shirt, get an Extra Large jersey.

The shorts:

These have a number of features that make them better than typical shorts at this price. As a product of having plenty of material above the hips, they manage to ride high so that they actually go well above the small of the back and above the navel in front, hence they tend to stay where you put them at the start of the ride. The thighs are snug enough that they provide good muscle support without being so tight as to be uncomfortable, and they also stay where you put them. The other thing is they have an excellent, large pad that provides plenty of cushioning. The model I chose was the cantara pad. I can't speak to any other pads comfort.

The other thing, although maybe only a consideration for me, is that I air dry these items after hand washing them. They seem to dry faster than my other biking jerseys and shorts, I suppose because of the materials used.

The appearance of these two items vary a little from the images shown here, but you have doubtless seen these on other GCC riders, so you know how they really look. The blue on the jersey is a bit darker than shown here, the yellow on the front and back fades to the  blue gear/acorn section with a slight white area in between,. the text on the shorts is a bit oddly chunky and strange, but they still look good.

Roger Pierce has told me that you have until Sept 1 to get in your order. If you are still riding in a cotton T shirt and gym shorts, you really owe it to yourself to sample what real biking comfort is about. Take my advice and order this set for yourself while you're still able. Sure, there will be another order someday, but even though I'm the Vice President, I can't begin to tell you when that might be. Don't miss your last opportunity for a long time.
