With the dewpoint sitting at 77F, and a heat index of around 100F, the
"ugh" meter was pegged at a solid 100% as fourteen competitors took to
the street for for today's installment of the Gainesville TT
challenge. High humidity and heat, plus a surprisingly strong
headwind
on the return leg, made for slower times than we've seen in the
previous events. Still, each of the participants pushed their bodies
and minds to the limit in this true test of individual strength. Here are the results: Merckx 1. Ken Sallot, 22:14, 25.1mph 2. Mike Christopher, 24:07, 23.2mph [1] Ben Brew, 24:07, 23.2mph [1] 4. Lambert Vaes, 24:13, 23.1mph [2] 5. Scott Erker, 24:45, 22.6mph 6. Mark Ou, 24:55, 22.4mph 7. Huan Dinh, 24:56, 22.4mph 8. Jack Kohn, 27:04, 20.6mph 9. Chris Brew, 27:38, 20.2mph 10. Tony Ross, 28:35, 19.5mph Aero 1. Derek Schanze, 20:51, 26.8mph 2. Kendall Fredericks, 23:11, 24.1mph 3. Amos Audette, 23:44, 23.6mph 4. Allison Costello, 24:03, 23.2mph Unfortunately, we had no challengers for the "Anything Goes" category. We will see you next time in September for the final event! Special thanks go out to Mike, Buster, Roger, Rachel, Jayson, Doug and Ryan for working as course marshals and time keepers! [1] Tied for 2nd place, the order presented is based on start oder. [2] Special recognition should be noted as Lambert's time was slowed by obstacles.
