Big thanks to Carry zukaitis for leading the women's ride today. I think it is safe to say that everyone had a great time. Definately just what I needed. Not to fast or competitive and there was not one flat tire (but if there was, we could have fixed it, no problem) I'm sure that it will take off well! It is an excellent place to start if you don't feel comfortable ride in the co-ed group rides :)

Speaking of women on bicycles, I'd like to encourage the ladies of GCC to plan on going out to  GCC Time Trials next month. You will have a great time! Although Claudia & I were the only women out there this weekend, when I rode everyone was especially encouraging and glad to have us there! It's just you and the clock on the for for 9ish miles - the only pressure is what you put on yourself. You don't have to post your time if you don't feel like it. Take the chance and step out of your comfort zone...you might find out you like it!!!

Thanks again Carey for posting, looking forward to next weeks ride. And thanks to Ken for giving me the ol' HTFU and all of you TT guys for your support this weekend! I had a great time.
Thanks for letting me stand on my soap box of a minute,
Jo Weaver

We are starting up a women's ride on Mondays, leaving Tioga Town Center (Bike Works parking lot).  Meet 6 p.m., leave 6:10 p.m.  This is a steady no-drop ride of about 16 m.p.h. and no more than thirty miles, conversational pace.

Our first few rides will be a shorter route. 16 miles.
If you have any questions about the ride, feel free to contact me.

Regards,
Carey Zukaitis
