Offroaders -

We will still be riding on the trails of San Felasco at 5pm although it does appear there is a bit of rain headed our way. If it is raining, we will be primarily be riding loops on the cellon creek trail, up the powerline hill and  then onto the grassy service roads. This is to avoid the possibility of standing water, slippery roots, and further increasing erosion on the singletrack trails. These wider grassy trails will provide a good workout including some decent climbs - a great start to your Tour de Felasco training!

Hi Everyone,

We will have an off-road ride this Tuesday, October 27, at San Felasco.  Meet at the bike trailhead, off SR 441 just south of Alachua. The ride will start promptly at 5:00pm, so be there and ready to ride by that time.  Distance and pace depends on who shows up, all levels and skills are welcome.  We will be off the trails by sunset, no lights required.
The weather forecast is calling for a chance of t-storms, if it is thundering/lightning or downpouring at 5pm, the ride will be canceled.

Please note, I will not be posting rides from Oct 29-Nov 15 due to travel. I encourage other riders to post offroad rides at anytime, especially while I am away.

Upon my return, now that the weather is cooler, I will be posting group rides for Santos (Ocala) and Boyette (Tampa) as well as San Felasco. I am also considering posting rides on the Gainesville-Hawthorne trail (32 miles) for those riding mtn bikes with road slicks as another way to train for upcoming endurance type events (Tour de Felasco, Ididaride, Squiggy, Croom, etc). Although this may sound a bit on the boring side compared to riding singletrack, these rides will greatly improve your fitness level! Please let me know if there is any interest in this type of riding.  Upon my return in mid November, I will be posting an upcoming event calendar to the listserve including the above mentioned events and more for anyone who may be interested in training for these rides and races.

Hope to see you on the trails!
