I presume you mean: 316.152âTurning on
curve or crest of grade prohibited. I did not find
316.1052(6) on http://www.leg.state.fl.us. I
hope not, though. Validating poor cycling behavior by citing statutes does
not translate well to group riding. Motorists are not disseminating chapter
316.152 or 316.1052(6) as the drive. They simply see cyclists in
the road. It appears, but I a cannot be sure
because all that was written was "Florida Statute
Title XXIII Chapter 316.6052(6).", but you may be stating that the
cyclists were entitled to the road because there was a bend in the road.
The mindeset of "we are entitled by law to use as much of the road because
chapter xxx says we can" is infuriating. I don't think the menatlity of
quoting statute is particularly beneficial when the simply issue is that
there is a car back. Move over! What is so difficult about the concept?
Then again, I may have incorrectly interpreted what you didn't
say. Personally, I am tired of having beer
cans thrown at me while I ride. Witnessing the behavior on GCC group rides
over the past four years has certainly explained some of the anger that has
been expressed my way. Every ride, even the non-aggressive rides, seem to
have at least one rider who will not move into the bike lane. Self policing
our rides may seems likely recourse, but for the most part it does not
occur. Validating that behavior by citing law gives me little hope things
will improve. Gerry. On May 28, 2011, at 7:35 PM, George Edwards wrote:
