These are lower-end Mavic race wheels, but they are race wheels. I don't like to use "beginner" to describe these wheels because they are well beyond that. For you Cat 4's and 5's, these would be a great step up.

For you upper-echelon riders/racers, they would be best used in crits so you don't have to worry if some sketch takes you out and destroys your wheels... or on the hipp ride... or for worry-free training.

I am taking a big loss on these and have to sell, so I hope they can go to a good home.
