Help us beat our record, we're looking to hit thirty riders
this week! Based on popular demand from both new and returning
riders, we've re-formatted the ride a little bit. We hope you
will find it accommodating.
Meet 6:00 leave 6:10 p.m. for a teaching ride of about 25
miles from the Bike Works parking lot in Tioga Town Center on Wednesday.
Fit riders who want to learn group riding,
drafting, and safety will be mentored by an experienced rider (one per
newbie) in a safe environment and smaller/slower group of about 17-18 mph,
no drop. Riders who have less experience rejoining the main group
after corners and stops should also consider this group.
Other riders with a little more experience will go on a
ride of the same distance and course, average speed of about 18 mph.
During this ride, faster riders will participate in drills concerning
racing tactics, time trialing, sprinting, and intervals, with the goal of
regrouping at some point if possible with the main group.
The teaching portion of this ride will progress in the
opposite direction of the main group, that way the groups can eventually
meet and ride in together. When newbies feel comfortable drafting,
they can begin the ride with the main group.
Keep the Rubber Side
Down,
