To All HighBees: This Saturday’s ride will be a repeat of last week’s ride that didn’t happen due to rain. The forecast is for good weather this Saturday, so we should be in good shape; cool but not cold, with a high around 66.

Special Note Concerning Future High Bee Rides Posted By Me

In an effort to keep to everyone happy about High Bees rides posted by me, kindly understand that those riding with us rightfully expect that the rides will be maintained around a 16 mph pace.  Therefore, in all of my future online GCC ride postings, please expect to see this reminder.  Further, I will ask those present before the ride starts if they anticipate riding in excess of the 16 mph pace.  For those that do, kindly plan to leave just before the main group does.  Those of us remaining will start and maintain our ride at the posted 16 mph pace.  Thank you for your understanding.

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, November 22nd

Time: 9:00am meeting, 9:15 departure

Meeting Place: Parking lot in front of Publix at Steeplechase, on Newberry Road at NW 143rd Street in the Jonesville area. We’ll meet in the southern part of the parking lot just east of SunTrust so we are out of the way of the parking for those shopping.

Route and Mileage: We will do the Traxler Ride with some modification, going up 241 to 94th Ave and west to 27/42, then north to Traxler for a stop. From there east on CR 236 to CR 241 and south to the point of beginning. I estimate the total ride at a little over 40 miles.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16 MPH; a little faster based on terrain and slower on climbs. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Thanks,

Mike
