The Hokey Pokey group will ride more backroads of Micanopy on Saturday, May 28.   We will ride 22 miles.  The group should meet in Micanopy (see directions below) at 8:15 a.m.with a 8:30 start time.

This route is obscure backroads, different from the roads we often ride.  The roads are a more bumpy tar-McAdam, so hybrids or touring tires may be more comforable.  These roads have almost no traffic and are shaded in places.  Riders will be given detailed maps and Chandler may mark the ride route with paper arrows.

Monday's ride (May 30, Memorial Day), the Pokies will meet at Fanning Springs (see directions below) for a ride on the Nature Coast Trail.  The Nature Coast trail is a paved rail-trail with no cars.  It's a great place for families with children or for beginner riders.  We will meet at 8:45 for a 9:00 ride start.  Don't forget we have a picnic at Hart Springs at noon.

Everyone is welcome to come on these rides (of course, you must wear a bike helmet).  Don't worry about being slow, no one is slower than me and we never leave anyone behind.

The ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the back of the group to make sure no one gets lost.  The ride leader is also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other mechanical problems.
