Sunday Nov 6 Strays will ride from the Waterfront Park on Lake Minneola to Sugarloaf Mountain. Either 26 or 35 miles available.

This is a scenic, hilly ride that is set up to provide a chance to descend and climb Sugarloaf (the highest point in the Clermont area). With a grade of 14% for .6 miles, Sugarloaf is a challenge to any riders ability. Because of the direction of the proposed ride, a rider can actually climb the backside of Sugarloaf to only look at it; if the rider so chooses, it is not necessary to descend its western side and then climb the 14% grade on the 26 mile option.

This ride is set up to allow two options in terms of distance, the first will be 26 miles and the second option, for those desiring to also ride a loop from Sugarloaf to Buckhill (another significant hill), will be about 35 miles.

Arrive in Waterfront Park at 9:15 to depart promptly at 9:30 am.

There will be a convenience store stop about the 2/3 rd point in the ride.

Post ride the hungry will probably head for a restaurant. We have previously been stopping on the way back to Gainesville at a Greek-Italian place in Leesburg which has been good.

If you have not been out riding with the Strays before you will need to read all of the information at:  http://gccfla.org/cgi-bin/webridedetail.cgi?groupid=8
