Sunday the LoBees will begin a one day per weekend training ride for those who wish to get ready for the Cycling Festival or any other reason (the other weekend ride will continue to be in our usual 30 mile range).  This Sunday we will join Team VetMed on their ride of about 56 miles, with options for about 25 or 45 miles.  The speed is essentially the same as a LoBee ride.  I will be doing the full route.  Alex Gallagher’s original ride posting is a the end of this email.  Please note the link to the ride map and be aware that the ride back to Gainesville from Micanopy will be via Hwy 441.  Neither of the shorter options will utilize 441.  Please call or email with any questions.

Sunday – September 11th:

MEET: At the VAB at the vet school (easternmost building of the complex on SW 16th Ave)

(anyone unfamiliar with the exact location please call or email me for specifics)

TIME: Meet at 7:45 AM for an 8:00 AM departure.

PLAN: 56 mile ride SW of town in the Micanopy-Archer areas.

PARK: In front of the VAB

Expect about 56 miles at about 15-16 MPH on the flats

As always: helmets are mandatory, mirrors are recommended.

LoBees will obey all Florida cycling laws, a listing of which may be found here: http://gccfla.org/laws.html

Please call or email with any questions.

Hi all,

Lo Bee's and others welcome to join as well.  This weekend’s ride will take us out west toward Archer, down to Raleigh, and back in through Micanopy for about 56 miles.  There will be a rest stop in Archer, a short stop in Raleigh (CR 335 and 27), and if needed, a short stop at the Pearl store.  There have been some warnings about possible problems with the water in the Raleigh area, so if you plan on refilling there buy bottled water (or other beverage).  We will meet in front of the Veterinary Academic Building (VAB) at 7:45 AM with a 8 AM roll out.  Bring plenty of water, etc.  Ride pace will be 15-16 mph on the flat.
