Hi all,

Any and all welcome for this training ride, but note the pace we will adhere to.  This weekâs ride will take us back on to some of the hills of the Horse Farm 100.  Currently the plan will be to come back on 441 for ~65 miles.  At the groupâs discretion, we can consider adding about 3 miles by coming back on Wacahoota Rd/Willliston Rd depending on how everyone is feeling at that point.  The weather should be cooler this weekend and with the sun rising a little later, I am moving back the start time a little.  This is also to help with those of us that will be cheering on the Gators as they (hopefully) Roll the Tide Saturday night.

This weekâs ride info:
Day: Sunday, October 2nd

Time: 8:15 am meeting, 8:30 am departure

Meeting Place: Veterinary Academic Building (VAB) at 2015  SW 16th Ave, Gainesville, FL

Route and Mileage: This will be an ~65 mile ride with some hills to help get us ready for the whole Horse Farm 100 coming up in just 3 short weeks.

See http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/52425186 for the ride route.

Pace: We will look to average 15-16 mph for the ride.  Cruising speed on the flat will be 16-17 mph depending on the group. This is a friendly, no drop training ride.  We will regroup as needed at turns.  We will take it easy on the hills.  The goal is for everyone to make it back okay.

Rest stops: The plan is to use the store in Flemington as the rest stop at both ~25 and 50 miles.  Last trip, their supplies were not great.  If we note this at the 25 mile stop, we will detour over to the convenience store in Fairfield around mile 42.

Helmets required.  Bring plenty of water and power bars, gels, etc that you fancy.  Given the length of ride and the expected beautiful sunny weather (hopefully not jinxing us), sunscreen is highly recommended as well.
