This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, August 15th

Time: 7:15am meeting, 7:30 departure

Meeting Place: Chevron Station, on the corner of NW 43rd St and NW 53rd Ave.

Route and Mileage: I don’t know what ride you would call this. I drew it out on the Race Track Ride map, but it doesn’t go anywhere near the race track. We’ll start up 43rd St to 441 to Hague and up to NW 156th Ave, turn left to CR 237 and go to CR 235 turning right and going into Lacrosse. From there we’ll go north on SR 121 to Worthington Springs and take a stop there. Then we’ll go southeast on CR 18 to CR 237 turning south and it becomes CR 1493 that goes back in to Lacrosse. We’ll make another quick stop there if needed due to the heat, to get more water or other liquid sustenance. We’ll head west on CR 235 to CR 231 and turn south to where it merges with SR 121 and follow that south to 53rd Ave, turning west back to the Chevron. As an alternate if the group wants to we can take 156 Ave west to SR 121 and take 121 all the way back to 53rd Ave. It adds few miles, but we’ll leave that to the group that rides on Saturday. I’m guessing at about 40 miles without the alternate route near the end.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16-17 MPH; a little faster based on terrain and slower on climbs. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.

See you Saturday. Let’s keep the rubber side down!!

Mike
