Hello all,

 

I will be riding one of the loops of "The Ride to Remember"  on Sunday,  May 11, starting at 10 a.m. from the community park in Flemington.    I will be marking the route with spray paint, so this will be a real slow ride.  

 

This ride might be a great opportunity for slow riders or beginning riders to enjoy the horsefarm country of Marion County.   The route is about 25-28 miles and includes parts of our famous "Horsefarm 100" route. 

 

Chandler will be leading (actually following) this ride.  Everyone is welcome, and trust me, no one can ride slower than me when I am marking a route. 

 

The ride will start at Flemington Community park,   meet at 9:30, leave at 10:00 sharp (not 10:15).  To reach Flemington community park,   take US 441 south from Gainesville.  When approaching Micanopy, take County Road 234 south (right turn about 1/2 mile north of Micanopy)  and proceed south on CR 234.  County Road 234 becomes CR 329 at the Marion County line.  Continue on CR 329, (Flemington is 10 miles south of Micanopy)  and the park will be on the right, about 1/4 mile before the intersection with CR 318.   

 

Club members should consider participating in the "Ride to Remember" on May 17,  it's a beautiful ride for an excellent cause.   I will be leading a beginner ride that day, out of Flemington, to introduce novice cyclists to the horsefarm country.  The beginner ride will be on one of the 25-28 mile loops that is part of the "Ride to Remember."
