I stand corrected on the side street, although following the signs will still get you there (call if you have any problems).

I was looking at mapquest...the east trailhead with an oval parking area that is the very end of the GHT trail is just south of the intersection of SE 71st Ave and SE 218th Terr. 

 

 

This Sunday the LoBees will do our traditional reverse G-H Trail ride.  We will start at the Hawthorne end of the Trail, ride to Gainesville and back.  If you wish to join us we will be going for brunch at the near world famous PJ’s Café in Hawthorne after the ride.

 

Sunday – August 9th:

 

When: Meet at 8:30 am, depart by 8:40 am.

Where: Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail (Leaving from HAWTHORNE)

Coming from Gainesville take Hawthorne Rd. (SR20) to Hawthorne..  Just before going over the 301 overpass bear right at the courthouse onto N. Johnson St. go 4 or 5 blocks down to SW 2^nd Ave. and go right.  The trailhead & parking  will be about 100 yards down on the left.  THERE ARE BROWN G-H TRAIL SIGNS AT EACH TURN.  You can’t miss it (if you do, call me).

 

Expect 31 miles at about 15 MPH on the flats. 

As always: helmets are mandatory, mirrors are recommended.
