Sorry for the short notice- in trying to give cyclists a chance to get together with other cyclists I sent a note from the Kickstand folks as well that said to meet at 1145am. This sounds a bit late- I don't know if this is their official time slot or they just plan to join in, but this is the official word from the parade king. Getting their early is actually an advantage- cause getting to mingle with the excitement, the showmanship, and wide variety of groups one of the best parts and helps everyone organize. Hope you have a fun time. Jim

Subject: UF Homecoming Parade Wave 2

Dear Parade Participant,

This is a reminder that you are in Wave #2 of the parade. We ask that your float, vehicle Special Unit, or person representing your non-vehicle Special Unit (i.e. bands and dance teams) arrive at 8:30 AM on Friday, November 4th to register. Please do not be early

If you are a float, you will line up at the entrance gate of the O'Dome parking lot that is across from Hillel. If you are a Special Unit, you will line up on Gale Lemerand, entering from Museum Road. Only vehicles/floats participating in the parade will be allowed to enter at these locations. This is not an area for personal vehicles to drop off parade participants.

All other members of your parade entry, including those who will be riding on the float, in the vehicle, or walking with the Special Unit must arrive no later than 11:00 AM. However, note that parking is first come, first serve so please factor that into your arrival time.

Gale Lemerand (between Stadium Road and University), Stadium Road, the O'Dome parking lot, and the Law School parking lot will all be off-limits for parking personal vehicles that will not be in the parade. Aside from that, parking on-campus for parade day will be the same as it is on Gator gamedays. You do not need a decal to park.

We would like to remind you of a few parade day guidelines in preparation for the big day:
  • Both throwing items into the crowd AND handing out items to the crowd is prohibited.
  • We will check for driver license and insurance at registration.
  • Your entry must be in accordance with this year's theme: "There's Nothing Like the Swamp"
  • FLOATS ONLY: You must have a fire extinguisher on board.
Please be careful to follow all of these guidelines as we will remove all parade entries that do not comply with the rules.

Lastly, start getting excited for Friday! We know you all have worked hard to perfect your Gator-themed entries, and we are looking forward to celebrating our Orange & Blue pride with you. After all, there is "Nothing Like the Swamp!"
