This weekend is the FOURTH installment of the 2011 Gainesville TT Challenge Series.  We will meet at DeSoto Park in Hague at 8:00AM** on Saturday the 25th of June.

I *REALLY* wish I didn't have to write this next paragraph, but after last month I feel that I must.  We are guests on the road.  Last month we had several vehicles show up and park right at the TT start, and a few people disposed of their empty gu wrappers in someone's front yard.  We are only allowing one car at the start/finish by prior arrangement; if you need to drive to the TT, please park at the post office in Brooker and ride the 1 mile to the start.  People who park at the start/finish, or throw their trash on the ground, will be asked to leave and not return.  We have a pretty good thing here, let's not ruin the fun for everyone.

No Registration Fees.  No Race Numbers.  No Pay-Outs.  Just you, the bike, and the clock*

The Gainesville 2011 TT Challenge Series
Weather permitting, the next installment in the 2011 TT Challenge Series will be held on Saturday, June 25th at 8AM (if the weather is hellish we will hold it on Sunday the 26th).  We will meet at DeSoto Park in Hague, and roll out to the TT course as a group.

A map of DeSoto Park is available at: http://www.gccfla.org/ridelocdesoto.html

About the 2011 Gainesville TT Challenge
The TT Challenge is a 9.3 mile out and back time trial.  It is open to anyone that rides a bicycle.  During the series, an Individual Time Trial will be held once a month until the end of the series in September.  We will record your times and at the end of each event the results will be published.  At the end of the series we will announce the results of the best times, best averages, and course record.  The overall winner in each category will be given a handy certificate signifying that they got an official "Atta Boy (or Girl!)", nothing else.

There will be three categories for the challenge:

Aero -- This can be a road bike with clip-on aerobars, or a TT bike, aero helmet, and skin suit.

Merckx -- Road bike only, no clip-on's, no aero helmets, no skinsuits, no wheels deeper than 30mm (I WILL have a ruler with me, maybe)

Anything Goes -- This is for anything that is pedal driven.  Trikes, recumbents, what-have you.  If you can pedal it, you can enter it.

There will also be an optional fourth category, "I want to ride a time trial, but I don't want anyone to know my official time".  We will not record your time if you're in this category.

The course can be viewed here:

2011 Series Leaders

Merckx -- David Gibson, 21:47
Aero -- Derek Schanze, 19:49 (Course Record for this category!)
Anything Goes -- Jim Wright and Ty Mader, 19:37 (Course Record for all categories!)

* - and of course, bragging rights..

** - Please note, you can meet us in Brooker if you like, but it is your responsibility to be at the starting line when we're assigning start order.  If you show up to the start line AFTER people have started, you will not be allowed to compete -- the volunteers helping to run the TT this weekend have made it very clear that they have other plans immediately after the event, so do them a favor and please be on time.
