Several alert riders have brought to my attention a slight misstatement in my ride posting. I meant to say 2:00pm and not 2:00am; so don’t mount those big headlights and head out to the Chevron in the middle of the night, in you polar exploration suit ready for an exciting ride. Stay in bed; get some sleep and show up for a nice 2:00pm ride when it will hopefully be sunny and in the low to mid 60’s. Thanks to all those who were quick to point the error.

This week’s ride info:

Day: Saturday, January 15th

Time: 2:00am meeting, 2:15 departure (Yes, I know this is a lot later than normal. But, it is going to be a lot colder than normal. The goal is to ride during the warmest part of the day. Do your Honey Do list in the morning and then enjoy a nice semi-warm ride in the afternoon; instead of freezing your wheels off in the morning.

Meeting Place: Chevron Station, on the corner of NW 43rd St and NW 53rd Ave.

Route and Mileage: We will do the Mebane Hill Ride plus about 10.5 miles added to it for a total of about 49 miles. We’ll take a rest stop in Traxler at the fruit stand.

Pace: The HighBees ride pace is about 16-17 MPH. This is a friendly, no drop ride; we re-group at all turns when needed.

If you are new to GCC and are looking for a weekly ride with a moderate pace and moderate distance, please feel free to join us.

Membership Requirements: Please note that HighBee rides are open to all GCC members who wish to participate. Those that are non-members may ride with the group as a guest of a sponsoring member once without being required to be a member.
