Clint
Slatton is a young engineering professor at UF with four
children and a
fifth on the way who was recently diagnosed with Stage
IV metastatic
melanoma, which means that his cancer has spread to his
liver, lungs,
and bones. The Slattons are facing many expenses during
this difficult
time, including babysitting costs of over $1,000 a
month so that Clint's
wife Jen can be with him as he receives medical
treatment. To learn more

We are
organizing a fun, kid-friendly event Aug. 29 at Westside Park
as a way to raise some funds
to help the Slattons. We will be holding
a huge bake sale, selling
old-fashioned fresh-squeezed lemonade, and
selling raffle tickets
(prizes include a package from Sun Country
Gymnastics, a family photo
session with Three Monsters Photography,
and classes with Gainesville
Creative Kids). Gainesville Creative Kids
will also be
hosting a craft tent where kids can do a fun craft for a
donation. Come
out and bring the kids!

and make a note of your
contribution.
Workers!! We will probably schedule volunteers for 2-hour
shifts.
