If any of you are hungry after your Saturday Ride!!

SUBJECT: Bake sale August 29th to help local family

We're holding a bake sale, lemonade stand and raffle to help a local
family--please come!

WHEN: Sat, Aug 29, 10 am to 4 pm
WHERE: Westside Park, 1001 NW 34th St., Gainesville

Clint Slatton is a young engineering professor at UF with four
children and a fifth on the way who was recently diagnosed with Stage
IV metastatic melanoma, which means that his cancer has spread to his
liver, lungs, and bones. The Slattons are facing many expenses during
this difficult time, including babysitting costs of over $1,000 a
month so that Clint's wife Jen can be with him as he receives medical
treatment. To learn more about Clint and his family, please see this
Facebook group:

We are organizing a fun, kid-friendly event Aug. 29 at Westside Park
as a way to raise some funds to help the Slattons. We will be holding
a huge bake sale, selling old-fashioned fresh-squeezed lemonade, and
selling raffle tickets (prizes include a package from Sun Country
Gymnastics, a family photo session with Three Monsters Photography,
and classes with Gainesville Creative Kids). Gainesville Creative Kids
will also be hosting a craft tent where kids can do a fun craft for a
donation. Come out and bring the kids!

WE NEED:

Bakers!! If you would like to bake, please contact Carol Church at
carolelainec@xxxxxxxxx or 352-271-9583. She will give you instructions
and make a note of your contribution.

Workers!! We will probably schedule volunteers for 2-hour shifts.
Contact carolelainec@xxxxxxxxx or 352-271-9583 for info.

Publicity!! Do you belong to a local group or a church or synagogue?
Can you email members to let them know about the sale? Can you post a
flyer at your child's school or your workplace? If so, please let me
know!

EVERYONE!! Can't bake? Too busy to help? Just come on out to support
this cause. And spread the word!

See you at the sale!
