The Suwannee Bicycle Association (SBA) is having an open house at its clubhouse in White Springs on Saturday, March 19.  All GCC members are invited.  There will be road rides and SBA has maps of excellent off-road (mountain bike) trails along the Suwannee River.

SBA will be sending an annoucement of its planned rides and activities.  Chandler will lead a 25 mile Hokey Pokey ride. Ride start times to be announced.

White Springs is also having its Azalea Festival this weekend (March 12).  Both the town and Stephen Foster State Park will be having azaleas,  food and music.   Both the town and park are historic and beautiful, and the park has bell tower that plays carilon bell music. There will be a folk music concert at the historic Telford Inn in the evening.  Magda Hiller will be playing.  The Telford also has excellent dining, including a classic southern style buffet. You may want to e-mail McKenziew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx for musical ticket reservations.

The White Springs area has excellent riding roads, with several marked routes.  The Big Shoals park has mountain bike trails and a paved trail (3.5 mile) that connects Big Shoals and Little Shoals.

The Hokey Pokey ride will be chaperoned by the ride leader who will ride at the back of the group to make sure no one gets lost.  The ride leader is also a bicycle mechanic who can help fix flat tires and help with any other mechanical problems.
