Ride Your Bike To Homecoming and Help
Raise Money To Restore The Cotton Club Have you ever
considered what Homecoming day might be like if everybody who has the day
off actually gathered someplace AFTER the parade to celebrate not only the
Gator Nation, but also the diversity, richness and sustainable aspects of
our North Florida community? How about
something we can all participate in called "Homecoming
Gainesville?"
This year's Homecoming Parade 2010 takes place
Friday, October 15th and the organizers of Homecoming
Gainesville would like to invite you to participate as a walker or
bicyclist in our community unit ("Run, Bike, Walk"). Please RSVP
if you can participate -- Extra points for creative outfits, unusual
bicycles & enthusiasm! We hope that next year this parade can be
even more fun with creative competition to create unusual and amazing
"art bikes". But we know this is short notice so please
help by being the first founding members of Homecoming Gainesville this
year just by participating on whatever bike you have. To be a part
of the parade please reply to us with the following
information:
Your Name:
Number of People (incl. yourself): Your Cell
Phone: Walker or Biker? Any
special outfit, bike, etc?
The parade is Friday, Oct 15th, starting
at 12n. A few members must be there starting at 9:30am, but the bulk of us
do not have to arrive until about 11am. Our unit is in Wave 4, and I expect
us to be done by about 2:30pm. As with last year, we will be meeting up
in the O'Connell Center parking lot (exact location to be determined). The
parade finishes just south of University Ave. and Main Street in
downtown. Following the parade, we will be gathering at Ribfest (a
fundraiser for the Cotton Club), which is located at NW 5th Avenue and NW
6th Street. To participate
