Bob,
I read this email with interest, as my wife and I are traveling from
Gainesville to Austin, TX for the Lance Armstrong Foundation LiveStrong
event
in late October. Having never traveled with a bike, our initial thought
was
to rent bikes while in Austin for the event. However, we would rather
take
our bikes if feasible and the fact that the GCC has cases might make it
so.
Do you have any notion on how much airlines charge to check bike cases?
And
is it feasible for a novice mechanic to disassemble and reassemble a
bike?
I apologize for the novice questions! :)
Thanks,
Tucker

I wanted to
express
the club’s sincere appreciation to Jorge Milanes for his
donation of a
bike travel case to the Gainesville Cycling Club for member use.
This
brings to three the amount of travel cases
available.
Thanks again
Jorge.
