Three cheers for the Ross's.
This is a great example of pro-active work by local bicyclists for a
good project. Good citizen groups come up with a plan, lobby
for it in a positive manner, are polite and most important are
persistent.
County government (and all government for that matter) all too often
have to listen to angry citizens who are "against it" (whatever "it"
is). These citizens are usually abusive and almost never have any
alternative ideas, they're just "against it."
Elected public officials respond much better to citizens who do their
homework, come up with a plan and work together with government to create a
workable solution. Persistence also pays off.
Much praise for the Ross's and to James Thompson. They are
working positively with local government to help the local cycling
community achive good things for bicycles.
