Hello all,

 

A reminder to those who like paved trails tht there will be a clean-up of the Oleno-Itchetucknee Trail on Saturday, October 23.

 

We should meet at the entrance of Oleno State Park at 9 a.m.  Bring work gloves brooms, shovels and pic-sticks.

 

I will bring soft drinks, water and snacks to feed people along the trail as they work.

 

The clean-up is being organized by a State Legislator (Bill Whitley)  and I think it is important that we help maintain a bike trail that the government has provided for us.  If we pitch in and help,  government officials are more likely to listen to when we ask for new trails or other transportation improvements.

 

Oleno State Park is 35 miles north of Gainesville on US 441.  Head north on US 441 (13th Street) through Alachua and High Springs, Oleno is 8 miles north of Oleno on US 441.

 

Bring a bike and go for a ride after the clean-up.
