On Saturday Oct 31, Strays will ride about 30 miles, in the Minneola, and Sugarloaf Mountain area. This ride is grandly hilly.
Arrive at the City of Minneola Trail Head Park at 9:15 am to depart at 9:30 pm.
Directions: To get to the Minneola Trail
Head Park.......proceed south on US 27 to US 50 (Washington St). Go left
(east) on Washington St for about a block until you come to
Bloxam Ave. Turn right (south) and go a block or two to the park. Rest
rooms, water fountains available.
Speed 2.5 - 46
mph, depending on terrain. Average speed has typically been
11 - 14 mph
in recent times, however given the large
number of steep hills on this ride the average speed will probably be
11 mph or less.
There will be a convenience store / rest room stop
at about the mid point in Montverde.
After the ride the hungry can join us in Leesburg on the way back to
Gainesville at Takis Greek & Italian Restaurant. We've
been there before and its good.
NO pace lines, NO
racing, NO wheel sucking, just a fun social
ride.
Helmets are REQUIRED on all
Strays rides, mirrors recommended, headphones and music making machines
FORBIDDEN.
Safety protocols are
always observed on Strays rides
