Hi, cyclists,

Since I'm a teacher to my bones...I can't help this...

A HUGE thanks for the big hearts and strong legs of all the people who helped me as a TEAM make it around the full century course.  Lambert was truly the main man domestique...at one point, after finishing my turn at the front, I cramped in my right leg and got dropped by our group...I pedaled with my left leg at 20 mph in his draft to catch back on.  But also, huge thanks to Adam, Roger, Jacob Wysocki (an old physics student of mine), Scott, Greg, Jerry, & the rest of the Gliders and other GCC riders in our group.  That was my first century since Fall 2008 and first major ride since my heart attack.

The heat and the hills took their toll with a bit of attrition occurring during every loop to the last miles. Pain? What pain?

Lambert and I finished at a 19.1 mph average...my goal was a 20+ mph average...so something to shoot for next fall on the SFC 2010. He had a sinus infection...yet he still put that aside for a hell of a job.

And thanks to Jayson and his video which I hope to use in my physics classes at BHS to turn on kids besides Derek Schanze and Jacob Wysocki to cycling.

Best wishes out to Matt & others involved in the early crash...mend soon and see you on the road down the line.

Thanks to the Alzheimer's chapter for putting on a heckuva ride. I'll be back.

Damn, we our a club...thanks, guys...Bob
