I won’t be posting a ride for tomorrow night as I think it is important for as many of us as possible go to support the Bike Causes that will be before the city/county council tomorrow night.  See details below.  I am planning on riding to the meeting right after work, so I hope to see you all there.  See the details below.  I was talking with one of the presenters for the bikers on the ride on Saturday, and he was telling me that he expects a number of the “Tea Party” members to be there; Ed Bratty (SP) for one.  Ed has asked for 20 minutes, which could be quite contentious…..  His basis thesis is that we don’t need to spend ANY money on bike related issues.  So we do need your support.  If it doesn’t run to late, we may also be “Forced” to stop downtown where to replenish our food stores.  Several good restaurants to do this

Hope to see you tomorrow night!!

Sincerely, Doug

It is critical that we turn out in force Tuesday, March 15 (5:30 p.m.) to the planning meeting for the Board of County Commissioners.  This is a single issue meeting centering around multi-modal transportation planning.  Several City and County officials, from across political lines, have asked us to attend the meeting.  To my understanding, a majority of the County Commissioners support the general plans for improving connectivity.  We will not accomplish our goals for bicycle facilities without supporting the larger planning process.

If you wish to attend, I would very much appreciate you sending a personal commitment to my email address.  As of now, we have seven attending from our Commuter Group.  You do not have to speak, but it would be better if you did, and we can certainly help you with what to say.  I'll post some talking points before the meeting.

Regards,

James Thompson

Advocacy Director
