LoBee Ride will be Sunday, Feb. 26.

Meet at 9:00 for a 9:15 start at Traxler for a 45 mile ride.

Traxler is located at I-75, exit 404, north of Alachua.  There are 3 convenience stores just east of the exit. Park just west of the middle store.  I believe it is a Chevron station.  We will ride to Myrtis (Watermelon Park) and back.  Speed will typically be in the 15.5 to 16.5 mph range.  LoBees re-group at each stop sign.  Nobody gets left behind.  Maps will be provided.  Convenience store stop at Myrtis.

LoBee Rules and riding tips:

1.  A mirror is highly recommended.  If you have one on your car you need one on your bike!!!

2.  Helmets required.  Headphones prohibited.

3;.  "Pacelines" are not used.  We may ride single file much of the time, but high speed, tight formations will not be employed, due to the safety hazards they can create among casual riders.

4.  Bike lanes  -  Whenever bike lanes are provided, LoBees are expected to ride there, and not in traffic lanes.

5.  On roads where no bike lane or paved shoulder is provided, keep to the right.  In no passing zones stay single file.

6.  Each rider is responsible for his or her own safety.  Avoid calling"clear", "car", etc. when approaching intersections.  It may be clear for you but not necessarily clear for all who can hear your call.  ("car" soundsa lot like "clear" for most of us guys over 40!!)

7.  Communicate with other riders!  Yell "slowing" or "stopping", "on your left", "car back", etc.

8.  Out-of-town guests are welcome when accompanied by a LoBee sponsor. Local residents will be expected to join the club in order to ride.  We will have club entry forms available before each ride.

10.  Always ride safely!
