The Gainesville Cycling Club will have a picnic at Fanning Springs State Park on Saturday, July 14.  Bike rides will begin about 9 a.m.,  food begins about noon.

Ride leaders may want to organize rides that will end near the picnic site at Fanning Springs.

The Nature Coast Trail, a 37 mile long paved bike trail, runs right by Fanning Springs.  This bike trail is perfect for families (no cars on the trail) or casual riders.  The highlight of the trail is the railroad bridge over the Suwannee River.

Chandler will be cooking hamburgers and hot dogs (all beef hot dogs!).  Please e-mail me at:  chanbike@xxxxxxx  to let me know if you prefer hamburgers or hot dogs (or both)  so I will know how many dogs to catch and how many cows to grind up.    Club members are asked to bring a side dish, salad or desert to round out our feast.

Chandler may need help with two things:
1) My van will be at the mechanics's this week and may not be ready by this weekend, so I may need some help with taking the big ice chests(that contain soft drinks) to Fanning Springs.
2) The Park has only one grill per picnic pavillion, so we might need a second grill.  We will provide the charcoal, we just need another grill (even a small one) to handle burger demand.

Fanning Springs State Park is west of Gainesville on the Suwannee River.  Take University Avenue (State Road 26) west to Newberry, then to Trenton.  Continue on SR 26 to Fanning Springs where you will turn right (west) onto US 19.  The Park will be 1/4 mile down the road on the left.

If you have questions, please E-mail me.
